The P2Rx administrative group met via conference call on September 10, 2003.
Andy Bray (NEWMOA), John Calcagni and Gary Hunt (WRRC), Deb Jacobson(GLRPPR), Hilario Gamez (SPPC), Rick Yoder (P2RIC), Mike Vogel and Laura Estes (Peaks),Ed Gonzalez (WRPPN), Chris Wiley (PPRC), Beth Anderson (EPA), and Jean Waters (P2Rx) were on the call.
We reviewed Jackson Hole meeting agenda, http://www.p2rx.org/WebCall/jackson.htm Scott Butner will present a report on cost/benefit analysis of changingthe way we do content sharing and future directions of the web – especiallyas it relates to P2Rx. Andy and Laura will present a report on the web group. Committee meetings for the executive committee, the marketing committee and the news committee have been scheduled. In order to save time at the meeting, send your center updates to Jean by Sept 26, 2003.
We discussed the marketinggoals (sent previously). The vote was seven centers in favor of adopting these goals, John passed.
Beth is asking us to make sure each question in the survey addresses some need in the goals. Deb thought all centers have already reviewed the questions. Beth not aware we’ve approved the survey. Rick and Deb want to get moving on the survey.
Beth suggested we just list question 5 once and let people identify they have used it or they might use it (two columns) and let them prioritize it. Laura likes that. Laura wants to find out why people don’t use p2rx. She suggests we make a scale for prioritization, and possible explanations of why people don’t like stuff. It’s also good to continue to leave open-ended questions. John suggested we list the national products, regional collaborations, and regional products on the question asking for usefulness of our resources.
We discussed the strategy for getting people to take the survey. We can e-mail people in the region that we want to answer it. We’ll also offer some incentive, such as a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com. Greg Geyer did the work for getting the OECA surveys available on-line. Jean will talk to him about doing this work for P2RX. Nedra Weinreich, the marketing professional, recommended we have these surveys online for three months. In addition to the surveys, Nedra will interview some people we identify from each region.
Beth wonders we want to use a scale like rarely to often for Q7 or Q6, so we’ll have a sense of how much they use the info. Mike thinks this is a good idea. In Q13 the breakdown of organizations is not the same as centers use to report activity measures. Do we need all this? Andy says it looks like the old list. Should consulting be broken out separately? Add consultant and education as different categories. Mike says don’t lengthen the survey too much, he thinks the integrity is close.
Jean will revise the survey, given the approval of marketing goals and bearing in mind the suggestions made on the call today. Chris will review, if others want to review, contact Jean. The survey will be sent out after this review and centers should vote on it within one week. If centers aren’t comfortable with it, we’ll discuss it at our meeting in Jackson Hole.
