      P2Rx Web Group

The P2Rx web group met via conference call on July 15, 2003. Crispin Stutzman (PPRC) Pete Johnsen (WRPPN), Laura Estes (Peaks to Prairies), Hilario Gamez, Jessica Mares, and Chris Gonzalez (SPPC), Daeho Kim and Parbin Kanel (P2RIC), Joy Scrogum, Blake Harvey, and Tyler Rubach (GLRPPR), Tim Tompkins and Curt McCracken (WRRC), Andy Bray (NEWMOA), and Jean Waters (P2Rx) were on the call.

Action items:
Tyler provide template for acknowledgement page as subsection of topic hubs. Tler provide code to include update date in footer of all pages. Tim will modularize the code.

Jean will follow up with administative group about sorting links on the topic hubs. Options include, putting core links first, sorting by resource type or geography. Multiple sorts increase the complexity.

Daeho and Prabin will develop admin forms to allow centers to associate topic hubs in programs directory and topic hubs. They will write the code and Tim will modularize it.

Jean reminded everyone to bring their laptop and a computer cable for a high speed cinternet connection or an 802-11B wireless card to the Omaha workshop. Everyone will need to have access to their center's server when in Omaha. We'll be making changes to the program directory and topic hub dataabases and other code changes.

The agenda for the Omaha workshop, Aug. 13-15, 2003, was reviewed. Jean explained the agenda follows the list of web items (the June 30 version, sent in e-mail July 7). Tim reported that Daeho, Laura, and Crispin have all implemented the modularized code. Basically, centers download code based and merge current html code into this. Centers do have o make a couple of other changes but it's pretty straight forward. For assistance, call Tim at 919-715-6510.

Jean asked if anyone currently has an acknowledgement page for topic hubs. Laura has an internal link for it but it desn't share when centers share her hubs. Daeho says we could add it as a subsection rather than an internal link. Laura thought we were limited to 10 subsections and the construction hub already has 10. Andy informed the group that the original admin forms could only handle 10 subsections prior to SPPC's update of the admin forms. Joy said their flexography topic hub has an acknowledgement sub-section. The other centers need a template for the page. One of the requirements of the acknowledgement page is that the "last updated" date be listed. There is no date stamp for subsections currently but when changes are made to the topic hub, it is being reflected in the "last date updated." All that is needed is to get in on the acknowledgements page. The date could be included in the footer. Tyler will provide template for acknowledgement page and code to include date in footer of all pages. Tim pointed out that if we do any updates to the topic hub code, he will get it modularized.

Currently topic hub links are sorted alphabetically. Jean asked how hard it would be to let centers decide how the links are sorted. For example, some may want to show core links first and then other links. Some centers may want to show the links sorted by resource type or geography. Multiple degrees of sorting are more difficult. Tim says we'd have to add function to dodularized code so you can implement how you want it sorted. If all centers decided to sort the links differently, the qusery could be put in as a veriable and centers could decide whether or not to use it. Jean will take this information to the administrative group for thier input.

In Reno, we agreed to explicitly associate programs to topic hubs. Andy did this with an "orgstohub" table in his regional program directory. Jean asked if we all wanted to associate programs to hubs in theis way. If so, we'll need an administrative form. Daeho pointed out that another option is to add the topic hub names to the keywords table. This approach has been considered in the past. It was noted that we have continuing issues with the keywords table. Centers voted on whether to include a able in the program directory or add topic hub names to the keywords table.
Andy - table to programs directory
Tim - whatever
Tyler - topic hubs listed in keywords table
Chris - table to PD
Daeho - table to PD
Laura - table to PD
Pete - table to PD
Crispin - table to PD

Two different admin forms could be used. One could be used when in the programs drectory, showing all the topic hubs and allowing the center to associate a specific hub to that specific P2 program. Or, an admin form in the topic hubs could display all the prorams in the regional directory and allow the center to choose which programs to associate wth that hub. The form can use radio buttons rather than toggles so it doesn't constantly refresh. There could be two columns, one for associate, one for disassociate.

Time didn't modularize wheretogo.cfm since it wasn't working. If we solve the where to go for help function in this way, part of the topic hub code will need to be rewritten and modularized.

Centers voted on whether to have the admin form which associates programs to topic hubs would be located wth the topic hub admin forms or the programs directory admin forms.
Crispin - hubs side
Pete - no preference
Laura - program directory
Daeho - no preference
Chris - no preference
Tyler - no preference
Tim - hubs side
Andy - hubs side

when programming this piece, check on what was previously decided to display on WTGFH. Items mentioned on the call were program discription, and primary contact, phone and e-mail. There may be others. Andy volunteered to do the programming to include specific contacts, beyond the general program contact.

Jean reminded the group that we need to collect feedback on rapid response service as part of the FY)3 deliverables. WRRC is working on a feedback form for rapid response. Curt explained they are hoping to have something connected to e-mails they send to rapid response clients, that allows clients to click on and provide feedback. This would generate an e-mail to a specific mailbox. Tim says there will a be a database associated with this to capture responses. Crt is also capturing the questions asked and answers given in a database. Jean will get with Curt to see if other centers can use their approach to meet their FY03 deliverable.

The program directory has some structural and data type issues. These may be resolved when everyone's together in Omaha.

Jean quckly reminded everyone that we have a few things left to decide. These will have to be done in Omaha. It includes whether we have a master keyword table or let every center have their own keyword table and use a namespace variable to distinguish among keyword tables. Also, whether or not the program directory updates need to be automatic or whether they can be manual. If manual, they could happen whenever a center updates the program directory as well as on a periodic interval.
