Topic Hub Completion Checklist

The following items represent a list of elements that comprise the minimum elements of a completed Topic Hub, v.1.0:

Data Collection Database (or Table) of Information Resources:

The following fields describe each record: title, URL, description, source, resource type, date, core, subsection, and topic hub subject. No minimum or maximum number of links has been set. Initial estimates ranged from 50 – 150 references. Data description has been standardized and documented in Guidelines for Topic Hub Data Records and Subsections, found at:

http://www.p2rx.org/admin/THGuideForRec.htm

Presentation of the database is through:

List of Links (for each subsection)

Narrative:

The narrative construct has been obliquely described by discussions in several documents at the P2Rx Topic Hub page, http://www.p2rx.org/topichub.htm. The narrative sections parallel the topic hub subsections. Necessary subsections:

Table of Contents
Where to Go For Help
Complete List of Links for the Hub

Core Document(s):

At a minimum, one reference document is highlighted as the single best resource on the topic. The core reference is presented as such, not embedded or hidden as part of the text. Bells and whistles beyond this minimum include:

Multiple core references
Core references tied to subsections.

The following items are found on some, but not all, topic hub publications. To be added v.1.1 – 2.0:

Add a Link:

A simple form to allow users to suggest a link of their favorite reference on the topic. Possibly tied to the collection policy for ht hub?

Rate This Link:

Capability for a user to identify the usefulness of the link. Combined with this is the presentation of the links sorted by the user ratings.

Full Text Search of the Documents:

A full text search of the references in the information resource database. Refinements include search by all of the references associated with a hub, or simply by those associated with a subsection.

Data Collection Database (or Table) of Program Resources:

Described by: organization name, address, telephone and fax number, email, URL, geographic service area, services offered, topic hub subject and program type.

Print Friendly Page

A narrative format more likely to be printed well, as opposed to the version that looks better published in a browser format.
